Are you having a hard time coming up with blog post ideas for your business website blog? Well, you’re not alone. Many businesses are struggling with coming up with blog ideas consistently. It can seem like a chore especially when you’re in a business that is complex or does not have a lot of flashy things to write about. I wrote this article to discuss some simple ideas for blog posts that you can write about today. It may seem like there’s nothing to write about but as you read this article ideas will come to mind and soon you’ll be excited about writing your next blog post.

Blog post idea #1: How-to & DIY (Do It Yourself) blogs

How-To and DIY topics have been a huge success online simply because we have become consumers of information that helps us do something. All you’ll need to do is explain how to solve a problem or complete a task that you see often in your business. The key is to pick the most frequently requested problem to write about. For example, you can write a how-to blog article about how to care for a product, or you can describe how to create something. Go a step further and write a How-To blog post that features your product or service. How many times have you bought a product/service and then have to look for instructions online? If you write a how-to blog post you’ll save your customers the hassle of figuring out how to use a product/service from other third-party websites.

Blog post ideas #2: Write a case study article

When people hear about case studies they think about long boring articles that no one wants to read. In this case, what I’m referring to is taking a solution you have implemented for a customer/client and detailing how your company was able to offer a solution for them. This blog post idea is great for service businesses where there are no tangible goods but rather a solution in the form of a service or consultation. For example, if you recently provided interior design services to a company’s offices, you can detail the before planning, the reason behind the design and the results of the design. Case studies are great for complex services where you have to customize solutions for your clients. It helps prospective clients see what to expect when they hire you.

Blog post ideas #3: Write about industry updates/changes in your industry

In many industries, there are updates that affect consumers on a regular basis. Many times these updates are not widely or well explained, causing confusion for consumers. You can take this opportunity to explain these changes and how they affect consumers. For example, if you’re a healthcare provider, you can talk about newly discovered plans and treatments and how they can be used. If you’re a real estate agent you can discuss how the new mortgage rates can help first time buyers. By providing guidance, you’ll be seen as an industry leader and a professional to look up to.

Blog post ideas #4: Write about changes within your business/company

Changes within your business: another overlooked topic when it comes to blog article ideas is just changes within your own business or company. Did you hire a new employee? Did you add a new product/service? Did you move to a new building? All these can be turned into a blog article. What makes this blog idea great is that it shows your company is active. Adding a new employee signals that you’re growing. Expanding to new office building building also shows growth. It’s even better when you include photos on this type of article. Nice photos of your new office or new products will do well on photo-centric social media.

Blog post ideas #5: Give examples of consuming your product/service

Instead of just telling people how great your products are, show them all the ways they can use your products/services. If you’re selling clothing, for example, show ways one can mix and match your scarf with a piece of garment that they may have. If you sell makeup, you can share ways to use it for optimal results. Doing this will allow potential customers to see the value of your product and help you complete the sale.
